IRCC Has Already Issued 7,800 Invitations to Apply for PR in 2019
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has already issued 7,800 Invitations to Apply for Permanent Residence under the Express Entry Program in 2019. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada have conducted two draws in 2019, with the first draw taking place on January 9th and the second draw taking place on January 23rd.
The first draw of the year invited 3,900 applicants to apply for permanent residence with a score of 449 points and higher under the comprehensive ranking system (CRS). The second draw also provided 3,900 individuals to apply for permanent residence, but this time with a lower score of 443 points and higher under the comprehensive ranking system. Neither draw targeted any specific program but invited candidates from all programs including the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). Both draws are a great start to 2019, with such a high number of invitations being issued and the score required to receive an invitation dropping by 6 points in its second draw already.
As of January 17, 2019, there are 181 candidates in the Express Entry pool of candidates with a comprehensive ranking system score of 601 points and above; 1,080 candidates with a comprehensive ranking system score between 451 points to 600 points; and 1,410 candidates with a comprehensive ranking system score between 441 points and 450 points. Hopefully, the 2019 trend of high invitations to apply for permanent residence being issued and the scores to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence dropping, will remain in the future. This positive combination in draws provides many candidates with an opportunity to apply for and receive their Canadian Permanent Residence.
