Thunder Bay CEDC will Start Accepting Applications on January 2, 2020
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program provides skilled workers, willing to work and reside in one of the participating program communities, with a path to permanent residence. The following communities will be participating in this program:
- North Bay, Ontario
- Thunder Bay, Ontario
- Sudbury, Ontario
- Timmins, Ontario
- Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Brandon, Manitoba
- Altona/Rhineland, Manitoba
- Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
- Claresholm, Alberta
- Vernon, British Columbia
- West Kootenay, British Columbia
All applicants wanting to participate in this program, must ensure that they meet the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) eligibility requirements, as well as the community-specific requirements. All applicants will also require to obtain an eligible job offer, with an approved employer in one of the communities listed above, and obtain a recommendation from the community, prior to applying for permanent residence.
Each community will be launching the program on different dates, however approved employers for the Thunder Bay community can now post positions on the CEDA website. On January 2, 2020 the Thunder Bay CEDC will begin accepting applications for a community recommendation, as long as the applicant fulfills all of the requirements of the program. This much anticipated program is a community-based program and aimed at spreading economic immigration benefits to smaller communities.
