Changes to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program

Effective January 2, 2018, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) will be implementing numerous changes to their program. The two most significant changes to the program will be the reduced number of streams available to applicants, and the implementation of the Alberta Express Entry Stream. A new stream, called the Alberta Opportunity Steam, will also be introduced and will replace the old Strategic Recruitment and Employer-Driven Streams. These changes are made to provide all applicants with a fair opportunity across all sectors and industries in Alberta to apply to AINP, and also to reduce processing times, simplifying processes and procedures. Further details on the AINP will be provided in January 2018.
